Islamic Banking: Capitalising on Sukuk
"Seeking the Sukuk opportunity, currently a global phenomena"

7-8 April 2008, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia |
About the
Workshop
The global market for Islamic bonds (Sukuk) has experienced a phenomenal growth over the last 5 years, as more and more institutional and private investors see Islamic finance as means to provide liquidity, diversification and sustainable returns.
Sukuk, largely issued by sovereigns and corporates, offer the advantage of fixed returns as opposed to fluctuating returns from other investment vehicles such as equities. The added value that Sukuk offers to the global capital markets is expected to drive their growth and it will progressively match the existing modes of financing conventional debt markets in years to come.
The market demand for Sukuk is facing a rapid increase and the time has come to seize the opportunity to obtain an in-depth understanding of the concepts, reasoning and market acceptance of Sukuk transactions.
The Banking Academy proudly brings you a 2-day programme to address and explore key elements and issues that your bank must know on Sukuk with Brian Kettell – an internationally recognised author and expert on Islamic banking and finance, with specialisation in Sukuk issues and has worked for Arab Banking Corporation in Bahrain, Citibank, American Express and Shearson Lehman.
